Abstract
In order to assess the health status of newborn babies, a practical method called Apgar score is used. By looking at Apgar score, medics decide whether the newborn need any attention such as resuscitation or intubation. Determining the possibility of the need for immediate intervention and immediate medical response is vital for the baby. In this study, the UC signals received from the mother before birth, and physiological data gathered from mother and fetus were used for this determination. As the analysis method, Mann-Whitney U test was used. Data was separated into two classes called intervention and non-intervention. Statistical data and UC signal were used to compare classes. 26 attributes were extracted. However, for only 5 out of 26 attributes have been found to be significantly different between the classes.
