Abstract :
Recently, more and more people have started going sports center or running in public places. In this project, i developed an android application which can be used in any sport center or any public place people run, walk, jog. When people install our app, the app collects their GPS, speed, acceleration data. Then, the data is sent to the server via WiFi Direct. In the server side, the location of all people will be shown with a dot on a map. The speed and instantaneous acceleration of each user is shown. Using speed of the user, activity can be tagged inactive, walking, jogging and running. To convince users to participate in the application, a competition environment is created. Some data processing is done in server side. The user with the highest speed will be shown with a red star, the user with highest acceleration will be shown as blue square. The other users will be shown will a google map marker. The data is updated with some time interval. I found the optimal interval for the energy consumption.
