Abstract :
Knowledge loss remains an omnipresent concern for organizations despite persistent investments in collaborative technologies. While research indicates that collaborative knowledge sharing attitudes are impacted by many factors, there is a dearth of social media research that investigates what social networking service (SNS) capacities impact individual attitudes toward knowledge sharing. To narrow the research gap, this study explores five common SNS technology capacities (ubiquity, brevity, communication/collaboration, subscription, and source identity) and proposes a model to explain the influence of these factors on users´ attitudes to engage in collaborative knowledge sharing via SNS platforms.
