Abstract :
This paper studies three types of faults in induction motors - a short circuit in the stator winding, a broken bar in the rotor squirrel-cage and a dynamic eccentricity of the rotor. The efficiency of faults detection, expressed through the ratio of the two rms values of the output voltage of coil sensors, or through the ratio of the two amplitudes of particular harmonics of this voltage for faulty, respectively healthy motor operation, is evaluated for no-load and for loaded motor operation. Low harmonics, with frequency between 0.5 Hz and the supply frequency 50 Hz and high harmonics, with the frequency in the range (12.5 .... 1500) Hz were considered.
