Abstract :
The objective of the paper is to present the potential of supporting life cycle based information with costs related information on the example of defective cellular phone handling scenarios. The paper presents the connotation of defective products in the literature and the possibilities of handling them. Cellular phone is used as an example of defining scenarios for handling defective products. Potential costs and revenues are estimated for defined scenarios and are combined with LCA results calculated with ReCiPe method. In the final step, simple sensitivity analysis is performed for selected scenarios on the basis of number of components that are damaged in returned product.
