Abstract :
The interest towards many-core architectures and parallelisation have increased. The many-core hardware plat- forms and the required algorithms have been already available. The paper considers the abstraction levels in the stack between the application logic and the underlying hardware. It briefly shows three kernel designs which aims to support many-core architectures. It compares the role of the kernel, the runtime environment and the frameworks in the aspect of parallelised applications.
