Abstract :
In a white space communication system the database calculates and provides operational parameters to the device based on the device´s specifications and geo-location. There is an option for the mobile device to submit an area where it may be located, then obtain the list of parameters that can be used anywhere within the submitted area. This paper addresses the effects of the area´s size to the available channels and maximum transmission power. By using a database which passed the qualification tests for the Ofcom TV white space pilot, this paper shows the numerical results of spectrum availability in several locations in London corresponding to different area´s sizes which are determined by the geo-location uncertainty.
