Abstract :
In this paper, the dynamic spectrum sharing issue among primary and secondary users in a cognitive network is investigated. We consider the scenario where an unlicensed user shares a frequency band with its licensed owner users as long as the sum interferences from interferers at the reference receiver are not deemed harmful by the licensee. Here, we present explicit expressions for outage probability of primary users in terms of the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) threshold, path loss, signal-to-noise-ratio in the absence of interference (SNR) and density of primary and secondary interferers under different channel models including AWGN channel and Rayleigh fading. We further evaluate the outage probabilities of the proposed schemes via extensive numerical analysis considering different system parameters.
