Abstract
An inherent problem of single phase PWM rectifiers is an alternate part with twice the grid frequency in the input power that should be filtered effectively in many applications. A conventional solution of this problem is installation a large dc capacitor in the DC-link that cannot be a good solution because of its restrictions. In this paper, a new active power decoupling method for single phase PWM rectifiers with relatively simple control scheme is proposed. In the proposed method, the pulsating power is absorbed by inductive auxiliary energy storage. This solution makes the use of smaller capacitor with suitable properties at the DC side. An extensive simulation is done in MATLAB/Simulink to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
