Abstract :
The article is dedicated to software implementation of the packet loss correction ARQ algorithm at application layer (AL-ARQ) for streaming in the wireless local area network. Functioning of the developed software verified experimentally using simulation of wireless transmission by the Gilbert model. Moreover, the algorithm was optimized for MPEG streaming by introducing the packets prioritization for retransmission taking into account time to deadline and frame type. It was experimentally obtained that the optimization had increased quality of service and quality of experience relatively to not optimized version of the algorithm.
