Abstract :
The possibility of applying seismic waves to transfer information through the high electrical conductivity solid rock structure, particular for communication between emergency refugee chambers and the surface of the mine. Seismic waves are generated by electromagnetic vibrator. Data are transferred by phase modulation orthogonal codes with strongly pronounced autocorrelation function peak. Preliminary field experiments have demonstrated the possibility of signal transmission over a distance of 1000 meters at a bit-rate of 1 bit / sec.
