Abstract :
The rise of alternative nonvolatile solid- state storage technology will change the architecture and uses of future consumer devices. Figure 1 shows a typical hierarchical view of memory and storage technologies. The commonly used memory technologies such as static random access memory (SRAM) and dynamic random access memory (DRAM) are volatile memory technologies, and they only retain data when power is applied.
