Abstract
This paper deals with the analysis of the Doubly-fed induction generators used for the wind turbine generation. The DFIG is considered because of its ability to provide reactive power, but the only drawback is the effect of voltage sag on the rotor side converter. In this paper we propose an algorithm to prevent the ill effects of voltage sag on the rotor side converter. This scheme is implemented by using a DC motor as a prime mover and the IGBT setup is used as the rotor side converter and grid side converter. The test results show the successful implementation of the algorithm and the DFIG stays connected to the grid even in case of a fault on the grid side.
