Abstract :
Based on the measurement principle of Capacitively Coupled Contactless Conductivity Detection (C4D), a new dual-modality ECT/ERT technique is proposed and hence a novel dual-modality ECT/ERT system is developed. A new dual-modality ECT/ERT sensor is designed and its mathematical model is presented. Phase Sensitive Demodulation (PSD) method is applied to measure the impedance and hence obtain the capacitance for ECT mode and the resistance for ERT mode of the fluid. With the novel dual-modality ECT/ERT system, image reconstruction experiments are carried out in ECT mode and ERT mode, respectively. The preliminary experiment results verify the feasibility of the new dual-modality ECT/ERT technique.
