Abstract :
The aim of the article is presenting a method for performing work related to the handling of containers in the wagon-yard direction, which allows for establishing a standard process that would be independent of other subjective factors resulting from the machine operator´s decision. The article presents factors that have a negative influence on the decision-making process in the wagon-yard direction. The proposed method is based on a comparison of the expected storage time for containers on the yard and intended for unloading.
