Abstract :
Intersymbol interference (ISI) in two-dimensional magnetic recording (TDMR) presents a serious issue in reliable recovery of stored data. Multi-directional ISI that arises in TDMR cannot be decomposed into one-dimensional (1D) ISI components and this causes the equalizer complexity to grow very rapidly with storage density.
