  • Abstract
    This study discusses the correlation between the large perpendicular magnetic anisotropy and band structure of L10-MnGa film by X-ray magnetic circular dichroism measurements. The thin film is deposited on MgO(001) substrate by RF magnetron sputtering and post-annealed at 400°C for 30 min. The spin and orbital magnetic moments of Mn atoms are estimated from the X-ray spectra taken at varying applied field direction. The perpendicular magnetic anisotropy constant is obtained from the magnetization and magnetic hysteresis loop data.
