Abstract
An efficient numerical method for solving electrostatic capacitance with the FEM-DBCI technique is described. FEM-DBCI is a state of the art hybrid solving method. The iterative process can take a long time to converge. Scaling factors are investigated to reduce the number of iterations required by DBCI. The results suggest DBCI is a valid technique and a scaling factor of 0.5 can obtain up to a 30% reduction in the number of iterations required. This will ultimately reduce simulation time and allow engineers to have highly accurate results in a shorter time.
