Abstract
Conceptual design of a novel multi-resonated complementary antenna is proposed. By perpendicularly incorporating an offset microstrip-fed slot radiator and a symmetrical aperture-dipole element, the dominant one half-wavelength mode and two fractional-order dipole modes, i.e., the three quarters-wavelength mode and seven quarters-wavelength mode can be excited and triple-band operation can be obtained. The radiation behavior at 1.10, 1.68 and 4.10 GHz are studied and the operation principle is validated. It is shown that the antenna has stable and unidirectional radiation patterns at the three resonant frequencies.
