Abstract
This paper proposes a method for detecting the location of arc fault by monitoring power flows of DC system. By measuring electronic circuit parameters from power meters in system branch, the arc fault detector can recognize the occurrence, type, and location of arc. Based on the type and location of arc fault, management unit can find an effective way to protect the system. Experiment set of a down sized DC microgrid with DC appliances and resistive loads verifies the proposed method.
