  • Abstract
This paper proposes a software model based on service-oriented architecture (SOA) for remote rehabilitation of patients with cardiovascular disease (CVD). The chosen approach ensures an efficient and easier interaction between both health providers and patients enrolled in the cardiac rehabilitation programs (CRP) by excluding the attendance at face-to-face appointments and using the Internet and its benefits. The intent of this approach is to allow the patient and the physician to monitor biometric data such as heart rate/oxygen saturation, ECG, blood pressure in few seconds after the parameter was acquired by using a real time event based engine. This perspective defines a new standard for Quality of Service (QoS) in the modern e-health services sector.
