Abstract :
This paper presents the derivation of the small-signal model of the boost converter operating in the boundary-conduction mode (BCM) using the circuit averaging technique. The essential transfer functions such as the input-to-output voltage transfer function Mv and the control-to-output transfer function Tp are derived using the linear small-signal model. Further, the characteristics of these transfer functions are analyzed using a representative design example. The switching circuit and the small-signal model are tested on a simulator to validate the proposed model.
