Abstract :
Rest break is an important part of healthy lifestyle for working professionals. There have been various researches regarding this subject with different disciplinary backgrounds, getting various conclusions including decreasing discomfort and reducing health complaints, particularly on neck and shoulder. In addition, rest break also improves workers´ productivity and has great effect on the safety of workplace. Through simulations and experiments, researchers have proved that frequent, brief rest break may have the best effects. In this paper, we will adopt quantitative approaches of Process Theory, Queueing Theory and simulations to intensify the same conclusion that more frequency of rest can produce higher productivity in service systems.
