Abstract
Virtual tutors are the actors that interact with students directly on a distance-learning course, making them a natural source of knowledge about the courses. This work conducted a quantitative research based on opinion of virtual tutors of a School Secretary course. This work addressed the following issues: (i) the ideal number of students per class; (ii) the tools that best facilitate the teaching-learning objective be reached; (iii) the main causes of evasion; (iv) the competences required from tutors and students to play well their role. The results showed that virtual tutors and students have different opinion about Instructional preferences. However, they agree that reasons related with students are the main causes of evasion.
