Abstract
This paper adopts an input-output framework to provide sufficient conditions under which robust output synchronization is achieved in a network of uncertain compartmental models. The network model consists of compartments each of which is composed of interconnected nonlinear subunits. A distinctive feature of the approach is that it takes into account nonlinear perturbations on the diffusive coupling interaction among the compartments. The main result is sufficient conditions for robust synchronization in the form of an L2 estimate of the synchronization error over an arbitrarily long observation period. The results are illustrated with a network of Goodwin oscillators where the diffusive coupling is affected by nonlinear perturbations.
