Abstract
As aircraft and systems are upgraded the compatibility of the introduced sub-system with the existing aircraft has become critical to the performance of the whole system. These sub systems may also include electronic devices brought on board by crew and passengers. This paper encompasses a holistic view of what should be specified and considered to ensure that intraoperability requirements are correctly specified and considered. Some guidance is also provided on the evaluation of test data. Although the emphasis of this paper is on aerospace the principles espoused are relevant to infrastructure projects, rail, automotive and Defense applications.
