Abstract :
For light source, color rendering index (CRI), luminous efficacy of radiation (LER), correlated color temperature (CCT) are important characteristics. Considering the potential retinal blue light hazard, blue light hazard weighted irradiance EB is also an all-important matter. Calculation of these parameters is based on the spectrum of the light source solely. In this paper, a simulation program was developed to pick ideal white light SPDs, with maximized CRI, from a mass of SPDs created by four colored LED chips (red, green, blue and amber). Based on the simulation results, the proportion of the relative emission spectral of the blue LED chip was reduced in order to minish the blue light hazard. The results indicate a positive effect in the LER and EB of the SPDs, with a reasonable reduction of blue light content, while keeping the Ra and R9 at a considerable level.
