Abstract :
A patent-pending process that allows the creation of thick silica aerogel films has been developed and tested on micro-heaters for gas sensors. As well as providing simpler-to-make heat insulation for even, efficient heating, this research from the US could unlock the potential of silica aerogel coatings for a wide range of uses.
