Abstract :
The error performance of minimum-bandwidth direct-sequence code division multiple access (MB-DS-CDMA) is studied for synchronous and asynchronous scenarios in Nakagami multipath fading channels. Comparing to the bandlimited raised cosine pulsed DS-CDMA systems, MB-DS-CDMA in both synchronous and asynchronous scenarios realizes Nyquist rate transmission with zero excess bandwidth, but only synchronous MB-DS-CDMA gives equivalent error performance, whereas asynchronous MB-DS-CDMA suffers degradation in error performance, which can be deemed as a trade-off by providing the ultimate Nyquist transmission rate.
