Abstract
In this paper, a heuristic resource allocation method for underwater uplink orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) system is proposed to reduce computational complexity. The proposed method allocates relatively better sub-channel quality to each sensor node heuristically. We evaluate the performances of proposed method by comparing with existing resource allocation methods in terms of energy efficiency and computational complexity. It is shown through simulation results that the overall energy efficiency of the proposed method is analogous to the performance of the optimal allocation method and the computational complexity of the proposed method shows the lowest value among the other resource allocation methods, except for round-robin method which has poor energy efficiency.
