Abstract :
We experimentally demonstrate the first holey and slotted photonic crystal waveguides in silicon-on-sapphire at mid-infrared wavelength of 3.43 μm. Chemical warfare simulant triethylphosphate was detected in gas phase at 10ppm concentration via optical absorbance signature.
