Abstract :
A novel structure for impedance transformer employing symmetrical coupled three-line is presented in this letter. This new transformer is approximately the same size as the conventional quarter wavelength, achieves three reflection zeros within its band-pass, and can perform high impedance transformation ratios. To validate the design procedure, a 50-170 Ω transformer has been implemented, achieving better than -20 dB return loss from 0.95 to 2.2 GHz.
