Abstract :
A high-flux, soft x-ray light source, based on high harmonic generation, using 1.5-mJ, 10.1-fs IR pulses with CEP stabilization, has been constructed and used to resolve the 1s-π* and -σ8 transitions in absorption spectra at the carbon K edge.
