Abstract :
Windward area is one of the most important parameters of space station and is affected by several coupled disciplines. To optimize it can lower the operating cost of space station. In this paper, collaborative optimization (CO), a multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO) method, is applied to the windward area optimization of space station in order to improve the design quality and efficiency of space station. Firstly, the significance of windward area optimization is explained by derivation of equation. Then, the optimization problem is analyzed, of which the design variables and related constraints are discussed. Furthermore, the optimization model, including configuration, dynamics and control, and power disciplines, is set up on the basis of CO method. Finally, with the use of adaptive genetic algorithm in the CO procedure, the optimization is carried out on MATLAB, after which the optimization process and results are analyzed and compared. It´s proved that the windward area optimization of space station could be solved effectively with the application of CO method.
