  • Abstract
    This paper investigates how lightning protections along the blades influence the electromagnetic modelling of windturbines at VOR frequencies. Two realistic blade models with lightning protections are compared with two homogeneous models: metallic and dielectric. It is demonstrated that the two realistic blade ones have a similar behaviour and the two homogeneous ones are not accurate for a scattered field computation. Then the relevancy of an electromagnetic modelling by physical optics is studied on one of the realistic models and validated.
