Abstract
The 12 streamers towed system is the main exploration equipment of seismic survey vessel. Based on the model of Ablow and Schechter´s finite difference method, this paper presents a numerical scheme to get the dynamic properties of towed system which the length of cables is changeable in a uniform flow by adding the virtual mass point. Then the dynamic simulation of the seismic survey vessel towed 12 cables turning and releasing streamers has been given. The shape and tension of each streamer can be predicted by this scheme. This research can provide technological support for achieving the streamer´s accurate positioning rapidly and ensure the safety of geophysical prospecting equipments.
