Abstract :
In order to assess the risks of accidents in the system of LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) carrier anchoring safely, the Bayesian network (BN) in this paper is applied to recognize the potential risks, calculate the probability of the accident and assess the severity of consequence. First the risk assessment model is given to calculate the probability of the accident and gain the maximum casual chain by diagnostic reasoning. Then the BN is used to assess safety of the LNG carrier anchoring system and discuss four causation factors leading to anchoring accidents. The result gives out that the BN is effective for safety risk assessment on LNG carrier anchoring.
