Abstract :
This paper deals with the design of an observer-based extremum seeking controller for a bioprocess model. Parameters and state variables of the bioreactor are reconstructed by considering a high order sliding mode observer (HOSMO). The observer is coupled with a nonlinear controller whose design is based on feedback linearization, resulting in an extremum seeking controller for the optimization of the gas production rate of a bioreactor. Validating simulations are proposed to assess the efficiency of the proposed controller.
