Abstract :
Obesity is major risk factors for a number of chronic diseases because most of disease is cause by this abnormality and this including, including diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and cancer and it is anticipated to be responsible for many deaths in the coming years. Body mass index (BMI) is the most established and widely used measurement to classify overweight, obesity, normal weight and underweight. BMI measurement has its limitations in some circumstances like overestimates in athletes, underestimates in elderly, exaggerated in short and tall individuals and exaggerated in the presence of oedema. In the recent years, researchers have started to pay attention on investigating the relationship between speech signals and BMI status. The study intended to summarize recent and up to date developments and advances in the area of prediction of individuals´ height, weight and BMI status using speech signals.
