Abstract :
Wide use of internet and multimedia technology creates large media repository that deals with the information about audio, video, images etc. Almost every user retrieve the required and similar media content, especially images from the large image collections. One of the key challenges is to design high dimensional indexing technique for faster retrieval of images by organizing its content well in computer memory. In the past decade, many researches have been carried out to design efficient high-dimensional indexing techniques to cope with the ‘curse of dimensionality’. This paper presents the survey of image indexing techniques such as tree based index methods and hashing methods.
