Abstract :
When a tube (nasogastric tube), made of resin, is inserted from the nostril to the stomach by a doctor or a nurse, it may enter the lungs by mistake. It will become a fatal situation if the nutrition is poured in with incorrect insertion. In this paper, an inspection technique that finds the position of the tip of the tube by detecting the alternating magnetic field excited from the outside of the human body was proposed. It is shown that the maximum error of positioning is by the experiment performed on a human body in the clinical test, and that the proposed technique can be applicable in an actual hospital.
