Abstract :
The three main ingredients of usability test-real users, real tasks, and real products-are examined. Some additional elements that make the difference between a good usability test and a worthless one are discussed. These are purpose and attitude, time of testing, experimental control, and dependent measures. The necessity of usability testing is argued.<>
