Abstract :
We report the development of a novel form of bolometric detector, which may have widespread application to particle detection and energy resolved measurement, and may be applicable to massive particles, photons or even phonons. The basis for bolometric operation is the response of coupled microwave dielectric resonators, one of which has an almost temperature independent resonant frequency while the other, much smaller, resonator has strongly temperature-dependent permittivity.
