Abstract
All-optical wavelength and data-format conversion in two-wavelength injection-locked slave Fabry-Perot laser diodes is demonstrated. Both wavelength and data-format converted signals have a polarisation dependence of <0.5 dB. At a bit error rate of 10-9 and a data rate of 10 Gbit/s, a power penalty of 2 dB was observed.
