  • Abstract
A brief examination is made of the character of the electromagnetic vectors, of Maxwell´s equations, of the Poynting vector, of the concept of impedence in an electromagnetic field, of relative motion in electromagnetism, and of the degree of utility of the concepts of magnetic charge and current. It is concluded that a case exists for modifications in the teaching of electricity and magnetism, especially at the level at which upper-division undergraduates are taught.
