Abstract
Active microwave imaging involves reconstruction of the spatial distribution of the electrical property inside the object of interest using multiview field measurements. In this paper, a microwave tomography technique employing a continuously deformable mirror and a single fixed transmitter is discussed as an alternative to the conventional technique that uses multiple transceiver antennas. The deformable mirror tomography is capable of generating a multitude of field measurements necessary to recover the spatial distribution of the unknown permittivity inside the penetrable dielectric object. Preliminary inversion results obtained using 2-D numerical model discussed in this paper demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed microwave imaging method
