Abstract
This paper describes the innovative laboratory equipment and teaching techniques that are being adopted in the electrical power engineering curriculum at West Virginia University. Detailed discussions of the use of dissectible machines, dissectible transformers, a power system simulator and of plans to incorporate individualized programmed instruction techniques into the first energy conversion laboratory are included. Increased student motivation and achie vement as a result of these curricula changes will also be discussed.
