  • Abstract
New Internet technologies are supporting smart new manufacturing practices, resulting in lower costs and a better ability to adapt and compete. Manufacturers have long been aware of the potential of the Internet to provide a comprehensive communications network uniting suppliers, producers, sub-contractors, distributors and customers, and the execution of a fully Internet-enabled supply chain is now within the reach of many companies.
