  • Abstract
Significant changes in graduate engineering education have occurred during the past decade to warrant a critical update. The composition of the graduate student body has raised much concern. Doctoral level manpower to meet national requirements has declined drastically. The self-assessment of graduate programs is beginning to emerge to improve quality and content. The spectrum of continuing education remains a vital force. Research and interrelations with industry impose major challenges.
