Abstract :
All engineers are asked to work within an interdisciplinary group some time during their career. This group may be a project team, a committee, or a department. In order to better prepare an engineer for such an experience, a description of what to expect from an interdisciplinary study of a system is presented. The seven phases to be encountered by a group member are discussed.
